Are you a fan of the Three Stooges? Some people don't like them, but most of us get a big chuckle out of those three misfits. Now Southpeak Interactive has a whole new way for you to experience these guys. They have just released a program called The Three Stooges Daily Desktop.

The Three Stooges Daily Desktop is what it sounds like. It is a program that lets you make notes, daily reminder lists, whack a Stooge and play a prank on another computer user. It features Moe, Curly, Larry and Shemp.

You can have daily photos of the Stooges on the desktop. The photos are stills from the various movies that the boys were in. There are different clocks that you can place on you desktop, both digital and analog. My favorite clock is the Country Club Curly analog clock where he looks like he's going to have a terrible time getting his golf swing right. It kind of reminds me of myself on the golf course.

There are different To Do lists that you can post on your desktop. From Curly's General Nuisance to Wanted For Vagrancy, these To Do lists will be both helpful and hilarious. There are also three different types of calendars that can be placed on the desktop, daily, countdown and monthly. The countdown calendar lets you place a message at the bottom of it.

You can add things like seltzer bottles and bouquets of dynamite to the desktop. Have your name on a nameplate that features pictures of the boys. Put a few sticky notes on the desktop

Set up a screensaver that has pictures of the Stooges. You can even password protect the screensaver so that someone else can't mess with your stuff.

You can also play a prank on someone over a network. Set it up for your buddy to receive an explosive bouquet or have a water balloon or pie thrown on their screen.

There is also a Theme Pack that has icons and sound effects from the Three Stooges.

The feature that I liked best about the Three Stooges Daily Desktop was the Whack-A-Moe game. This game is like the whack-a-mole game you find in arcades. Only this one has hitting Moe. Hit Moe over the head with a mallet or in the face with either a pie or a squirt from a seltzer bottle. You get 10 points each time you hit Moe. If you swing at him and miss, you'll lose points. You will lose a bunch of points if you hit Curly, Larry or Shemp if they appear on the screen. And they will from time to time.

To run this program you'll only need a 486 PC, but a Pentium would be better. You'll need 8 MB of RAM and a CD-ROM drive. About 150 MB of free hard drive space and a 1MB video card is needed as well. You will also want a decent sound card for all of the sound effects.

For a fun and entertaining desktop product, The Three Stooges Daily Desktop can't be beat.
