A couple of years ago a new female singer came onto the Christian Music scene. Her name was Jennifer Knapp. Her debut album is called Kansas. I listened to the album and found that it was great. Kansas was put out by Gotee Records.
First of all, I liked the album because Jennifer is from Kansas. She comes from a town about two and a half hours south of where I live. Where do I live? Topeka, Kansas. Anyway, that's the first thing that brought Jennifer to my attention. Right after she released Kansas, Jennifer did a mini concert at a Topeka Christian retailer, R.J.Carr's. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the concert but heard that it was awesome.
Probably the most aired song on Kansas is Undo Me. It was even featured on the WOW '99 album. It's about asking God to forgive you for things you've done to other people. It brings up Jesus dying on a cross for our sins. The music in the song has some hard hitting guitar in the background.
Another good track on the CD is Whole Again. The singer wants to be made whole again in the eyes of God. This song also has some real strong guitar.
Jennifer Knapp is a solid talent. Her voice is strong and her songs speak from the body of faith.
Other songs on the CD include In The Name, Trinity and Romans.
Every song with the exception of Refine Me were written by Jennifer. Refine Me was written by Kim Bontranger.
If you want a great CD from one of Christian Music's best new talents, grab a copy of Jennifer Knapp's Kansas.
