Geri Halliwell has broken out of her trappings as a Spice Girl and went on her own. The solo title from Geri that I just listened to was called Schizophonic. It was released by EMI/Capital.
The songs on this CD don't have the splash and flash of the Spice Girls. But it isn't supposed to. This recording, above all else, proves that Geri is more than just a bubblegum pop star. There are songs on the CD that are just great. Others are good and none are too terrible to listen to.
Walkaway is a song that could have been taken from Geri's life. It talks about walking away from a situation with your pride intact and head held up high. When there's nothing left to say it's time to walk away.
Mi Chico Latino is a hopping little Latin type of number. These type of songs have always been a hit. But there has been a real surge of Latin songs recently in the wake of Ricky Martin's success.
Goodnight Kiss is a bluesy song that might have been done in one of those sultry movie scenes when the girl is telling the guy about what to do with their romance.
Other songs include Lift Me Up, Someone's Watching Over Me and Sometime.
If you are looking for good music from someone who broke out
of the bubblegum mode, Geri Halliwell's Schizophonic is one for
your shopping cart.
