When something is really good, the people behind it sometimes try to make it even better. That is what happened with a game that was released by Microsoft. This game is a sim about zoos. The title of the game is Zoo Tycoon. It was developed by Blue Fang Games. Now the folks at Blue Fang, and Microsoft, have released an expansion pack for their top selling game. This expansion pack is called Dinosaur Digs. It deals with having dinosaur exhibits at the zoo you build in your simulations.

As they did with the first game, this expansion pack has a whole bunch of animals, or I should say dinosaurs, to choose from. There are over 20 types of dinosaurs that can be added to exhibits at your zoo. And each one of these species has their own set of personality traits and needs. These dinos come from the Jurassic, Triassic, Cretaceous and Ice Age eras.

There are now dinosaur themed buildings that can be built at the zoo. Add a tar pit or a particularly active volcano. The exhibits themselves will have newer, stronger fences to keep those nice little dinos away from zoo patrons. One oversized zoo patron might make a delicious snack for a dino. There is even an amusement park ride that can be added to the zoo based on the dinosaur theme.

There is a new grouping of staff for your zoo now that you have added dinosaurs. Research scientists can now be added to your staff. And for a safer environment, you had better hire some folks for your Dinosaur Recovery Team. These guys get your dinos back to where they belong, without hurting a dino or letting one of them eat a zoo patron. Make sure your dinosaurs are happy and you will have a fairly successful zoo.

You get a chance to mix it up a little by adding modern day creatures in with your dinos. But you have to be careful, because you don’t want a saber tooth tiger in with a gazelle. A tiger is a tiger is a tiger.

The expansion pack provides you with six new scenarios. These scenarios are designed strictly for working with the dinos in your zoo. There are specific challenges in each scenario.

Dinosaur Digs is a welcomed addition to an already popular game. Zoo Tycoon has been a top selling game for Microsoft. Dinosaur Digs should make gameplay even more interesting and entertaining.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier. This is a true expansion pack and requires the Zoo Tycoon game to be able to play it.
